SAREDO was founded in 2006. It was the product of a deep concern held by a few eminent gentlemen who were very worried by what they saw happening in Saahil region in the last decade

Since then SAREDO has grown up to be one of the active organizations working both fauna and flora

We team up with local institutions and other international NGOs. We form relationships with village elders, local councils and regional government offices. We are supposed to keep in touch the trends of development to the people of Somaliland where ever they are in the world that we believe they can play a crucial role in tackling many development issues

SAREDO is a non governmental non profit making organization with a head office in Berbera, Somaliland. SAREDO is committed to fight against social injustice and poverty and building a future that guarantees everyone adequate living conditions, equal opportunities and respect of their rights. 

SAREDO promotes the access to water and the right to proper health and education services in poorer communities, and gives immediate/sustainable and long-term aid and/or technical assistance to populations hit by war or natural disasters especially in one of the war torn nations of the horn of Africa: Somaliland. 

SAREDO  is currently involved in organizing  capacity building as well  social awareness  workshops aimed at encouraging communities utilize the potentials of Saahil  region, including: fishing, salt production from sea water, and other campaigns including the  anti HIV AIDS, anti  Drug campaigns , Humanrights and domocratization ,Environmental Pollution/ sea and shore  erosion.

We belief that the existence of a Rehabilitation and Development Organization could contribute to the region’s economic outlook, working in cooperation with public and private entities, promote  the region and businesses in order to attract, stimulate and revitalize commerce, industry, and manufacturing resulting in the retention and creation of viable living wage jobs.

Education:

We encourage education for all through the availability of new schools for the countries high illiteracy rate, the provision of trainings and/or workshops is included to our approach of tackling Somaliland's education problems

Health:

We strengthen local communities by improving healthcare services and establishing preventive programs, with particular focus on the health of children and mothers.

Water and sanitation:

We fight hunger and disease by guaranteeing drinking water, water infrastructures and health and sanitation services.

Environment:

We carry out projects for environmental protection both in degraded and degrading urban/rural fauna/flora areas and natural areas at risk.

Human rights:

We protect the rights of communities and promote.

Micro-Economies:

SAREDO as its name implies (Sahil Rehabilitation and Development Organization) is devoted to provide micro finance trainings, creating small businesses, business improvement counseling aimed at giving a helping hand to the war affected communities in Somaliland together with Internally Displaced Peoples working to create their new own life.

Currently SAREDO is focused in one of the disadvantaged, and least developed regions of Somaliland (Sahil Region), Saahil region is forming one of the largest regions of the republic of Somaliland , SAREDO has a sub-office in Hargeisa the capital city  of Somaliland so that SAREDO’s scope of work is  access to all Somaliland.(fauna and flora)

SAREDO Is the only local organization that carried out marine projects, SAREDO team has involved searching unique  marine environmental areas to be recognized as marine protected areas in around Berbera city ,
